Weber® Barbecue Thermometers
Roast meat lovers will have to have the one of the Barbecue Thermometers. They're digital thermometers that either beep or speak to you to let you know your roast is cooked to your liking. They don't even need to be near the barbecue, you can carry them around on your belt or leave them somewhere handy.
How they work -
Suppose you are cooking a roast of tender veal and you like to cook it to medium.
Step 1. Use the select button to scroll through the various meat choices on the digital receiver and select veal.
Step 2. Scroll through the cook choices and select medium. The target temperature will be displayed on the digital receiver.
Step 3. Insert the meat probe into your roast. Attach the probes insulated cable into the digital transmitter that is located outside your barbecue. The transmitter sends a signal to the digital receiver. As long as the receiver is within approximately 100 metres from the barbecue (if you walk out of range the digital receiver will beep) it will display the internal temperature in the centre of the meat. When the meat is nearly cooked, the receiver will beep 4 times for the digital thermometer model, whilst the audio model will speak to you. Its now time for you to make the gravy. A short time later the receiver on the digital thermometer model will give a continuous beep, whilst the audio model will speak to you, indicating your veal is perfectly cooked to medium.
Note: avoid sitting insulated wire on superheated barbecue grill.
Note: both the transmitter and receiver unit have a re-set button under the battery compartment lid. If the receiver is not receiving a signal from the transmitter, you will need to disconnect the probe and re-set both units while 'on' before re-connecting the probe.
